This project was a real challenge, as with many new houses the garden consisted mostly of clay, this was causing problems with drainage. We created a two tier affect, natural stone paving with circle to form the patio, with planting incorperated in to the paving design. New treated railway timbers were used to create the upper level, with land drains and a mixture of soil and sharp sand for the drainage. Turf was then laid and planting borders shaped.
